Pro-Wrestling is an odd thing to be into. To be a fan of the sport is filled with up’s and downs, during the 1980’s there were large periods of extreme mainstream popularity, followed by it being a puss filled wound in the early 1990’s… then the Attitude era of the WWF hit and it became more popular than ever before.
However, during all of this there was always a troop of devoted fans who weren’t toothless hicks with nothing better to do then see some ‘rasslin and a tracker pull or two. This group, back then, would grow up to be the future of the sport on the Local, and World-wide wrestling scene. People who grew up watching Ric Flair, Hulk Hogan, Ted Dibiase Sr., have now either grown out of it, or are involved in the wrestling scene in some way either by writing Blogs, running message boards, working in the back office of a federation, or even being workers themselves. 2009 is quickly becoming my favorite year in recent memory for music. Most of you know my main love of music is definitely Metal through and through — and 2009 was so far a fucking amazing. Now I won’t go into the absolutely amazing re-master’s of all the Beatles albums — we all know they are worth it. But here’s a few I picked up and some thoughts!
Megadeth: Endgame
I wrote Mustaine and crew off years ago. I didn’t like anything after “The World Needs a Hero”, and even that was mediocre at best. They announced “Endgame” and I wrote it off… Randomly I heard a song on Pandora from Endgame — didn’t realize it was off of endgame. I honestly thought it was an unreleased song from between Rust in Piece and Countdown to Extinction. That song was, of course, Headcrusher. I was blown away that Megadeth still had it in them… and once I got the full Album realized it was one of the weaker songs on the album. Read the rest of this entry »
This week finally sees the arrival of the much delayed Spider-Woman comic from Brian Bendis and Alex Maleev. I’ll be honest and say that I have been so irritated by the delay on this book that I wanted to hate it even though one of my favorite creative teams in recent history are on this comic. I can’t say I was all that surprised that the book is good, what surprised me was how much I loved it. Bendis has a way of taking these vulnerable and broken characters and making something really special. He did it with Jessica Jones in Alias and it looks like another Jessica is going to become another “top of the stack” must read character. The art is top notch and moody and makes this feel as much like a good noir book as a super hero action comic.
Yeah I just have to post about this because it’s amazingly great.
About 2 years ago I found out one of my superiors at work had an 80’s party band named Magnum. Well recently I also found out that Magnum has started doing reunion shows and is playing TODAY (Sunday the 2nd) at Musikfest. Why is this Epic? Because its on one of the few days off I have! Therefore I must go! And if I Must… i MUST!
To celebrate this amazingly awesome event I am going to post some of the best classic Magnum goodness I could find on YouTube…
I’m sure a lot of you around the ‘net have heard the rumors of Bigfoot finally being found in Georgia. Cryptozoologists everywhere are eagerly waiting the Press Conference to happen at 12PST today.
We’ll be updating this story LIVE all day today with every single ounce of news and footage we can possibly find on the Georgia Bigfoot corpse. Is it real? Is it a Hoax? Who knows — all I know is it’s great news! Live-Blogging all day — I love this shit!
I figured it was another Hoax, until it started making the rounds at every major news outlet in America – CNN and Fox News included! The whole problem that I am having with this entire thing is the fact that the ‘Bigfoot Hunter’ is a known Hoaxer himself.
Trust me I fully wish that this was 100% true because the opening this would have for the entire world of Cryptozoology would be HUGE and of course funding for other searches would go through the roof as well, sadly though like I said before, it probably is a hoax but I can’t wait until 3pm EST/12pm PST to find out what happens at this press conference!
Embedded below is the Fox News clip I found on You Tube
Also the CNN Footage:
**UPDATE**
The press conference is LIVE on CNN and CNN.com right now.
–They are being very vague about exactly what is going on, and no DNA evidence has been portrayed yet.
–It is claimed they saw several live specimens as well walking silently parallel to them while they were in the woods as well
–Tom Biscardi keeps interrupting when it comes to specific details on exactly what was found and kept in the freezer. He claims he will be handing out more detailed pictures of the body to every reporter in attendance.
–They are looking to capture a live specimen soon, to place a tracker on to be able to study it. They say they are trying to protect the species.
–Biscardi talks about his past hoaxes and how he was unaware they were hoaxes until he fully examined them and found out that the woman was lying that he believed in. “She was mentally ill”
– 3 DNA samples came back; One was Unknown, One was Human, One was Opossum
– Fox news cut the live feed of the press conference after 5 minutes or so, CNN Continued for a bit but cut before new evidence was presented.
– A Man in a sasquatch costume made it into the press conference holding a sign that said “We hide for a reason”
Update #2
– Found some youtube footage, but not of the actual press conference yet — CNN Pulled the feed right after the press conference was over… could it be because it was a hoax or because of a deeper conspiracy/coverup of the truth?
Here’s a snippit from the CNN Press conference live:
And finally 5 blurry minutes of the press conference as well:
Now I know reading this it seems like I’m buying into a possible hoax, but like I said before — I am just hopefull it’s not. I really wish it was true, same with Loch Ness Monster, Champ, Dragons, Aliens, etc. I’ll believe until someone can prove otherwise; which is impossible
Also check out this site for a lot of good debunking of the whole thing with a lot of good ideas and reasons behind a possible hoax!
UPDATE #3: PICTURES!
We got our hands on some pictures from the Bigfoot Discussion Board of the Bigfoot Claim! Check out the Board here for higher res pictures of the ones I posted to the right!
The First Picture: is a blur in the woods that resembles a humanoid type creature. It resembles next to nothing and is rather unimpressive overall. Looks exactly like everyone elses “sasquatch” photos that have been around since the original.
The Second Picture: Close up of the mouth and tongue – this just looks quite off to me, the tounge seems way too thin and the ammount of teeth for a creature this big is surprisingly low. People have commented on the cleanliness of the teeth however who knows the hygene of a creature we’re not even sure exists, also it could just be the lighting during the shot. But the fact that it appears to only have a front row of teeth is disconcerning.
UPDATE #4
Found a link to the FULL 45 minute press conference, unfortunately I can’t rip it and upload it to my server while at work, however if the link still works when I get home I will do just that!
Also Discovery.com posted a full on “This is a Hoax” article today — Read it HERE.
UPDATE #5
They apparently are going to be on MSNBC within an hour or so tonight as well — if I can find a feed of it I will let you know Right away!
Everything seems to have calmed down quite a bit since the press conference, there’s a lot of good discussions going on however on the legitimacy of the stories of course as it would always be in any Cryptozoology case.
It indeed has been discovered to be a hoax, Tom Biscardi is claiming that he paid the GA boys a LARGE sum of money and they gave him the body, once it thawed they ran with the money and left Biscardi with the melted remains of a costume, incidentally the same costume in our Bigfoot vs Rednecks logo!
