Welcome everyone to the latest edition of WTFEntertainment! I’m here to give you all a little background info on WTF this is all about! As if the title of this page didn’t explain that already… ANYWAY I digress.
WTFEntertainment.com started back many MANY years ago when Tommy and Stevo got into a fight on a forum about movies. This fight began and still continues to this day. They fought for many weeks over what movies sucked and which were absolute cinematic gold. They still can’t agree on anything.
ANYWAY.
This fight turned into a website which was THE FILM GUYS. Tommy and Stevo just decided to join forces and really just spout off their opinions to everyone on the internet. Unfortunately there were two other guys with the exact same website name who weren’t nearly as handsome as Tommy and Stevo were. So in order to make sure they weren’t accidentally mistaken for the unhandsome film guys they changed their name to “filmspies” and started FILMSPIES.COM (buy retro filmspies stuff HERE)They continued FILMSPIES.COM for many years until finally the magic paper we call money went away and they couldn’t afford to run the site anymore.
For a long time our faithful heroes just spouted off random stuff in forums and to friends. Stevo, being the manager of a video store at the time, had a Hardcopy version of Filmspies.com to hand out to customers every now and then but it went nowhere.
Tommy ran and started various sites throughout this time as well.
Both of them wanted something new and more but not constricted to just films.
WTFEntertainment.com was born!
This new site came about when Stevo decided to just say ‘fuck it’ and drew cartoons of tommy and himself… this sparked the idea for a new website –somehow. He brought the idea to tommy who ironically loved the hell out of it!
The site ran for a few more years before different servers, hosts, and general fuck ups drove the site into obscurity for 3 years.
That is until recently.
Stevo disappeared from the internet for a few years, quit the video store business, and went into Telecommunications and works for a major Cell Phone company in the Tech Support department — this afforded him some extra cash to fund websites again. He sent an E-Mail to Tommy. Threw the idea to him of bringing back WTF… and thus the website was reborn! So after months of relearning PHP script, SQL, finding some help, and making some content..
