As a huge Punisher fan this pains me SO much to say, however the word around the internet is thus: Lionsgate is trying to water down Punisher: War Zone and make it into a PG-13 action film. If any of you have seen the Red Band trailer (Embedded below) you’ll realize there will be NOTHING left of the film if it’s watered down and cut to shit the way I fear it will be.

This is what Punisher fans want!

It’s really just sad that they might chop this down to a PG-13 just because they want to gear it towards a younger crowd. Sorry — but it’s fucking THE PUNISHER. The people who will go to see this movie are the same crowd that made Punisher MAX a huge hit! The same people who loved the Widowmaker story line! Come on Lionsgate! Just bite the bullet and release it as an ‘R’!

Gainer is pretty fed up with all the rumors circulating, and insists that Lexi Alexander is not off the film, she’s very much involved in the editing process, the film will not be PG-13, and that she did get married. Gainer writes, “When I hear vicious unfounded troll rumors like the “film was unwatchable” or “a total mess” it makes my blood boil. I want to punish the corrupt. People sit on their fat asses trolling the internet, people that have never even looked through a motion picture camera, and make judgements [sic] on a work of art that they’ve never seen, it’s like saying a baby will be ugly before it is born, I can’t freaking wait for this film to come out and prove the nay-sayers wrong.”

1. Punisher is not a PG-13 character! I LOVED that first Punisher movie because it was so brutal. What’s the point of going to see a movie with all the good parts cut out anyways…
