More Cloverfield Stuff

Posted by Stevo On October - 13 - 2007

Hey everyone, quick post from my cell phone here — for those who are keeping up on cloverfield/11808 stuff, the slusho.jp website was recently updated with new information reguarding Tagruato and distribution opportunities. Included is a phone number to call. Its a Japanese number so I said “WTF” and called it anyway. What happens is it goes to an answering service, which is entirely in Japanese…. anyone out there know how to translate Japanese properly want to help us figure out WTF is going on?

Also Tagruato.jp is up and running and has some more information on the “deep sea nectar” that helps make up Slusho, which also appeared on the back of the Japanese Chef’s picture on 1-18-08.com — which we know probably brings our lovely sea creature back from the depths.

I love you Viral marketing… I love you so much :)

And hey, check out Cloverfield News for some good discussions and news items as well, and a HELLO to our cloverfieldnews.com commenters who came and visited the site recently. Welcome. Stay if you like

Inside Hell

Posted by Stevo On October - 13 - 2007

Hellraiser — my favorite horror movie bar none. I agree with the fact some sequels have gone downhill and uphill and good and bad. However Hellraiser and Hellbound: Hellraiser 2 are amazing and changed the way I thought about horror movies when I was a young lad.

Now with Hollywood running out of ideas; Remakes have become the new hotness and they are clamoring to find any property to remake and reimagine and destroy anyway they can. Sometimes it can be good sometimes it fails miserably. For every Dawn of the Dead there is a Black X-Mas. For every The Fly there is Halloween. So when they announced a remake/reimagining of Hellraiser I was full of anger and hatred… (What ELSE is new?) then news started leaking out about what was going on…

Clive Barker is writing it. Okay so I got a bit more optimisitc but still reserved. They announced the two directors for the movie… indy superstars who made a movie I never saw yet. Alright it still could be working… im still optimistic however Dread Central posted a little bit of news about the remake today courtesy of Twitch Film

”We don’t want to remake exactly the Clive Barker movie.” Bustillo told the site, ”We have met Clive and told him what we want to do with “Hellraiser” and he said, “It’s f**king good do it!” We are happy to have his benediction. It will not be a remake. It will still be called “Hellraiser” and it will have a new Pinhead.”

Now if they are talking more towards the way The Hellbound Heart (Clives original Novella that inspired the movie) dealt with “Lead Cenobite” (whom became our beloved Pinhead) then I could see it working — however just changing for the sake of changing seems a little pointless.

Clive Barker is happy with the co-directing team… thinks they will respect the material, so heres hoping he’s right cause right now my Pinhead tattoo is angry and worried about what will come next…

John Rambo — To Hell and Back To John..

Posted by Stevo On October - 13 - 2007

In one of the most bizarre twists turns and proof internet nerds (like us) have a lot of power in Hollywood sometimes comes this little news bit about the upcoming 4th Rambo movie… but this gets a little confusing… lets think about this.

First — First Blood, then came Rambo: First Blood Part 2… then after that came Rambo 3. Forgive me about this but WTF happened to Rambo 2? Rambo 3 should have been Rambo 2: First Blood Part 3. Which brings us to Rambo 4… and it’s many titles…

Rambo IV: End of Peace, Rambo IV: Holy War, Rambo IV: Pearl of the Cobra, Rambo IV: In the Serpent’s Eye

Then it became John Rambo a title that I enjoyed quite a bit, and felt it brought us back to the feeling of First Blood (or Rambo 1/2 First Blood Part 1 if you want to get technical). Fans rejoyced… then came the news that the name once again changed and Sly is calling it… Rambo to Hell and Back. Meh… very Meh.

Of course there was a backlash and it all got back to Sly and basically this is what went down…

“Hey! We liked ‘John Rambo’ WTF Gives Sly?!”

‘well hey… alright… it’s called John Rambo again’

So there you go — Sly listened and its Still John Rambo… or John Rambo: Rambo Part 3 – First Blood Part 4 :)

Why Have I Been So Lazy?

Posted by Calypso Burkez On October - 9 - 2007

futurama_double-vision-l.jpgWell I started a new job. So that’s my lame excuse. But I did seem to find a bit of cool stuff recently. Like everyone else here I love cartoons and Sci-Fi. And what combines those two genres nicely? Futurama! I loved that show. And the powers that be decided to cancel it. But as everything good that gets cancelled at Fox, there’s a chance they’ll be back in some form. and that trend continues to hold true for Futurama. There’s a straight to DVD movie coming out. And supposedly they’re returning to TV in ‘08.There was a trailer for it on Youtube but it’s gone now.
